Product Details

Learn to make your own authentic dreamcatcher with this fun and easy to use DIY kit.

In Ojibwe culture, the story of dreamcatchers revolves around Asibikaashi, the Spider Woman, who served as a guardian for the Ojibwe people. As the community traversed the land, Asibikaashi undertook the responsibility of ensuring everyone's safety, resulting in women being tasked with weaving webs and placing protective charms to safeguard infants.

The hoop symbolizes the circle of life, while the web captures negative dreams. Feathers guide positive dreams to the dreamer, and a solitary bead represents the spider - the weaver of the web. The intricate design permits positive dreams to filter through while ensnaring negative ones, thereby ensuring a restful night's sleep.

The solitary large bead in this kit is cast from resin, and contains the 4 sacred medicines (Tobacco, Cedar, Sage, and Sweetgrass).

This kit comes with one 4" hoop, suede cord (in assorted colours at random) , beads, feathers, and sinew.
